Description
To blur the boundaries that separate the house from the garden is an effective way to bring nature back into our lives.
In this instance, the client’s home was designed with an atrium at its centre, and within the atrium, a fern rimmed ornamental pond: a feature visible, through plate glass windows, from the four surrounding rooms.
Dragonfly was commissioned as the centrepiece of this gardenesque enclosure: a gleaming inspiring form crafted from marine grade 316 mirror polished stainless steel, rising from a circular base of smoothly worked Carrara marble shaped to mimic the rippling of water occasioned by the dragonfly’s gentle landing.
Not only does this place masterful artisanship at the centre of the home, it also creates a sense of being in contact with nature at all times.
