Description
In ‘Sunset’ a flaming disc is held within a bow of stainless steel, and offset within the iris-like orb is an aperture resembling a pupil. The semitransparent resinous disc at once captures, alters and projects received light. This fiery instrument may well have been stolen from a deity of the sun. According to Klee’s philosophy of colour, red balances green, and as such a green sunrise would be balanced by a red sunset.
